What is a TV Bed and how do they work?

A TV Bed appears like a regular bed frame, but comes with a taller-than-average footboard with a hollow interior to store your TV. Using a lifting mechanism, your TV can rise out of the footboard at the touch of a button on a remote control from the comfort of your new bed.

All of our TV beds are remote control operated so you never have to worry about climbing out of bed to get it up and running. Simply grab the controller from your stylish bedside, press a button and watch as your TV rises from a hidden compartment at the end of your bed!

All of our TV beds come in a wide range of sizes, from double, king and super king size, you're sure to find exactly what you need here at BedHut!

Benefits of a TV Bed

So why buy a TV bed? We believe that TV beds are the perfect combination of practicality, convenience, and comfort. Still need convincing? Check out the benefits of a TV bed below.

Perfect for lazy mornings

TV beds are well known for their main use, giving you a luxurious lie-in with some great telly without having to even leave the bed. Our range of TV beds all feature a remote control, so you can roll over, grab the remote, and start binging!

Handy Space-Saver

All of our TV beds feature a discrete hidden compartment at the foot of the bed, built to fully store your bedroom TV. This eliminates the need for a TV stand or any additional furniture to display the screen on, saving storage and room space!

Preserves the aesthetic of your bedroom

If you have a downstairs TV, there's no doubt you have encountered this problem in your living room. You've spent ages planning and decorating to make sure your room looks stunning and homely, only to put a gigantic black square front-and-centre, ruining any feng-shui the room had. This applies to your bedroom too, but with a TV bed there's no need to compromise! When not in use, your TV is neatly tucked away, out of sight and out of mind, so you can enjoy your room the way you envisioned.

Hides messy wires and stores tech with ease

Not only will a TV bed hide your television screen, but it will also avoid clutter caused by messy wires and cables, as all of these are stored in the TV compartment. No more tripping over tangles of wire to get to your bed! Your TV box and any games consoles are also put away in the handy storage compartments.

Things to consider when buying a TV bed

Before buying a TV bed, there are a few things to consider. We recommend taking a look at this list and making sure a TV bed is right for you.

Bed size

Make sure to consider what bed size will fit your bedroom. Read our handy bed size guide for more information. Please note that TV beds are a little longer than standard beds, as there is extra space in the footboard to store the TV.

All our TV beds start from double and go up to king size and super king size. Unfortunately single beds do not allow enough width to store a TV.

TV Size

Make sure that your TV will fit in the compartment in the bed. Our TV beds support a maximum flat screen TV size of 32 inches (measured diagonally) and 8cm depth. Your TV must also be mains connected, and so an extension cord may be required if you don't have any plug sockets near your bed.

Additional Storage Options

So you've found a handy storage solution for your TV, and now you've gone storage-mad! Not to worry, all of our TV beds come with an array of extra storage options, from underbed drawers to a full lift-up ottoman storage unit. These options are perfect for keeping clutter to a minimum, storing anything from bedsheets and linens to clothes and even technology.

TV Bed FAQs

We know you have questions, and we're here to answer them! See below for our most frequently asked questions about our range of TV beds.

Do TV Beds come with a TV?

Most TV beds do NOT come with a TV installed, this is to allow you to have the choice of what TV suits your situation and budget.

What kind of TV should I use?

All of our TV beds support flat-screened TVs of 32 inches width and 8cm depth maximum. As you will be fairly close to the TV, around 6ft, this is the optimal size to avoid eye strain or an uncomfortable sitting position when watching.

Can I use my games console and TV box?

Of course! All our TV beds have space in the TV compartment to connect your PlayStation, Xbox, and Sky TV box, with no messy wires.

How do I plug my TV in?

TV beds plug into regular wall sockets using the wires that come with your TV. They are neatly managed inside the TV compartment with a handy hole to thread them through. Please note that you may not have any plug sockets within range of the end of your bed, so a cable extender may be required. This can be placed neatly beneath your bed to provide the range of cable needed to plug in your telly.

Where can I buy a TV Bed?

So you've weighed up your options, looked at the benefits, and you're convinced! Now you're wondering where to get the best prices on a wide range of luxury TV beds.
